Built–Up Roofing Membranes (BUR)

With BUR roofing systems, the highly reliable waterproof membrane is field fabricated with layers of bitumen, alternating with plies of reinforcing felts. The redundant layers give it exceptional resistance to water and weather. Johns Manville has been a leader in BUR with 150 years of experience. We manufacture a complete line of fiber glass felts, including ply and base felts, and mineral surfaced cap sheets.

PermaFlash™ Seals the details in any Bituminous system

Unusual penetrations or roof details are no problem for PermaFlash. The liquid-applied, two-part system has a pliable polyester scrim that can accommodate any shape as the reinforcing substrate for the MBR® Flashing Cement. PermaFlash is easily installed in a wide temperature range and features great tensile strength, minimal odor release, enhanced workability and a low cost per penetration.
