DynaLastic® 250 FR CR
DynaLastic® 250 FR CR is a fire-resistant, polyester-reinforced SBS modified bitumen sheet. It incorporates the features of a tough, 250 g/m2 (7.38 oz/yd2), nonwoven polyester mat that is saturated and coated with a blend of SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) rubber, high-quality asphalt and fire-retardant additives. The elastomeric asphalt blend has full recovery properties after 100% elongation and lends elasticity and flexibility to the sheet. The polyester mat provides excellent tensile strength, toughness and puncture resistance, and can accommodate stresses created by typical rooftop expansion and contraction forces. The covering layer of a white, acrylic coating combined with ceramic-coated roofing granules provides durability along with superior resistance to damage from foot traffic, as well as the benefits of a reflective, emissive surface.
DynaLastic 250 FR CR is designed for use as a quality modified bitumen sheet in UL® fire-rated, multiple-ply roofing systems. DynaLastic 250 FR CR, unlike many modified bitumen products, enjoys UL Class A ratings in numerous constructions, both new and re-roof, without the use of additional surfacings. DynaLastic 250 FR CR is ideal for low-slope applications (inclines up to 1/2" per foot [41.6 mm/m]), and is recommended for this application with Types III and IV asphalt. For slopes from 1/2" to 3" per foot (41.6 to 250 mm/m), only Type IV asphalt is recommended. Because of its excellent weatherability, durability and handling characteristics, DynaLastic 250 FR CR may be used both as a modified bitumen cap sheet or as a flashing material; however, we require using DynaFlex® for flashing applications in many specifications. DynaLastic 250 FR CR may also be installed in JM MBR® Cold Application Adhesive. This product is not to be installed using heat-welding application techniques.
