JM Recognizes Special Industry Needs

As a publicly supported facility, the Solano County Government Center’s new roof had to reflect the values and priorities that are demanded by the people of the county. That means it had to be energy efficient, sustainable and cost effective.

The county and contractor worked with the Johns Manville Tapered Design Center to achieve maximum insulation and positive drainage over the 64,000-square-foot roofing surface. They selected a hot-applied, JM four-ply, built-up roof system. It has a GlasKap® CR coating that is reflective for less heat absorption. This means less energy is required to cool the building on warm California days. The roof is Title 24-compliant and contributes toward LEED® credits.
